Six years ago today I was just starting my first job out of grad school. I watched the news, but had no idea if that meant I should NOT go to work or what.

Went to work. Spent all day trying to find internet news sites that hadn't already crashed with overloads (part of my habit of checking Brit news now) and went home early b/c we worked in the tallest building in KC. Plus, all I was doing was reading the news and emailing to make sure all my former classmates in NYC were ok.

There are lots of memorials going on today, but the idea I like best is the concept of taking back 9/11 by making it a day to do something for someone else: www.mygooddeed.org
