I was *crushed* that I might not be able to get pregnant. After almost a year off the pill (six months not trying, really) and five months of trying, I got ultrasounds of the ovaries, etc. No cysts in there. My doc had just written me a Clomid Rx when I never got my period (I had went in b/c I hadn't had one in like 45 days, but no positive pg test). We were pregnant! I finally tested on day 52 and got a positive. And a tipped cervix and a bi-cornate uterus. They gave us no chance to get pregnant. I also fought for a diagnosis for well over 10 years. It's not easy. I blame being on the pill for it starting. I also had the weight gain and now cannot take it off dammit, no matter how little I eat or how much I exercise. It was a happy ending for us though, we had out two little miracles. My OB suspected I had pcos, and my sister was just diagnosed with it. I did manage to get pregnant twice (obviously, one one baby resulted) without fertility aids but I have never managed to have a cycle even remotely resembling normal off of birth control pills.
