Exercise – effing plank, effing bridge, Elliptical, modified pull ups.
Calories – 180 ish at the gym, more at home and weekend stuff.
I was all proud of myself for doing a round of ab work/crunches etc and then I read Deb Roby’s Useless Exercises Part 1 and sighed. I hate planks, but she assures me that everyone hates either the plank or the bridge (for her it is the bridge) but do it for a good core. Okay fine. After the porch incident, I clearly need to do the work. She hooked me up with video and off I went. No awe inspiring news to share – other than I freaking tried them and did not die or cry.
Deb has more plank variations as well. I just need to recover from my first attempts before I go gettin’ fancy with it 🙂
Glad you gave it a try. I can give you plenty of ab exercises that have nothing to do with crunches!
At the gym, hanging leg lifts are da bomb-giggly! And don’t forget side planks (OK, so maybe you’ll want to forget them…). Kick ups… ball wall squats (I know.. who would have guessed?) ball slams (great for tension relief). etc…
