Since I was ten years old, I said I wanted to be a writer.
In middle school I filled journals with things I had written. They didn’t fit into any category I knew of – now I know they were blog posts written in the days before the blog.
I spent high school writing for Journalism and Yearbook.
I spent time writing stories and not finishing them.
I started blogging eight years ago, just before Alex was born. I loved the community, the dedication to finally doing what I always wanted to do.
Now I sit and think about writing without actually doing it.
People mourn the days of when blogging was just for us. Funny memes, Haiku Friday, Wordless Wednesday, Friends Before Twitter …
My Facebook is filled with friends I met online, just at the time that “meeting people online” was still tragically uncool … but not quite …
It’s time for me to get back to writing for me. Forget the SEO, the page rank, the links, the advertising revenue potential. Just back to the writing.
